Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care / ADL Support for Home Health / Senior Care / Elder Care / Geriatric Care
The Owners
We are a family owned in-home care agency in the greater Sacramento area. In our own lives, we have seen family members provide care to others then, in turn, need support themselves. This is a cycle nearly every family experiences. Too often, there are simply not enough family caregivers available to provide the required support.
The challenges encountered by the person needing care are tough ones, physically and emotionally. The same is true for caregivers, either within the family or professionals. As a family, ourselves, we are committed to helping with those challenges, in every way we can. We want our caregivers and our agency to treat our clients how we would want our own parents treated – with love, patience and care.

My father lived into his 90s and my mother looked after him for several years after his stroke. The children were busy with their careers and families and could offer little of their time. It resulted in my mother’s poor health due to stress. In hindsight, engaging an external caregiver would have helped her tremendously.
I have worked and lived in 3 countries as part of a successful business career, including my last employer, a Fortune 50 company which had facilitated my moves. When I decided to leave corporate life behind and make a difference in the lives of others, starting an in home care agency became an obvious choice very quickly. Now that my parents have passed away, I don't have the opportunity to take care of them. However, by providing high quality care through Support For Home, I know that I will make an important difference to our clients and their families. In addition, I also want to make a difference to the caregivers themselves, by providing them with benefits, support and training to help them be successful.
I have a BS and an MBA, but Gerontology is now our focus.

I am very fortunate that both of my parents successfully lived at home until they both died this year. There are services that they needed, but thankfully they are surrounded by my sisters and a large family that cared for them, plus some additional professional home care.
Pursuing first an academic then a corporate career, I have not often had the opportunity to live near them. The realities of day-to-day life too often interfere with good intentions. In changing careers again, I focused on an opportunity to help people more than I have been able to in the past. I am still 750 miles from where my parents lived, but there are many people in the greater Sacramento area who I can help, through our in-home care agency.
I have a BA and an MA, and did some doctoral work in history, but, as Siew Pheng mentioned, my educational focus is now on Gerontology. I currently serve on the Conference Planning Committee for the National Private Duty Association (NPDA).

Katie, Client Services Manager
Growing up, I was lucky enough to have a very close relationship with my grand- mother that helped shape my respect and admiration for seniors. Over time, she developed dementia, and I saw her go through various stages of care. That acted as my introduction to the field of senior care.
During this time I was in college, trying to decide on what area of the healthcare industry I wanted to focus. When I was introduced to the Gerontology program, I knew I had found my calling. I graduated with my BS in Gerontology in 2005 and soon after started working at an Adult Day Health Center where I worked for the last six years.
Throughout my career I have seen how important it is for seniors and caregivers to have a strong support system and that is why I am thrilled to be on the Support For Home team.

Charlotte, Community Relations Manager
I recently graduated from California State University-Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. With my family living over an hour away and me even further away, in college, my grandfather’s health suddenly took a downward turn. Our family decided to seek help from an in-home care agency that helped him with activities of everyday living. Thankfully he received stupendous care from them, which has inspired me to pursue a career in this industry.
In addition to my passion for marketing. the health care industry has always intrigued me, so joining Support For Home as the Community Relations Manager seemed like a perfect opportunity for me. My past internship with a local non-profit organization that strives to better our local community really inspired me to continue my work helping our local community.

Keesha, Staffing Assistant
As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) for four years and a caregiver for three years before that, I have worked in assisted living, skilled nursing and group home facilities, as well as providing home care. I have seen the real benefits of staying at home, with assistance from professional caregivers.
My late grandfather decided to stay at home the last six months of his life, suffering from dementia and prostate cancer. With daily help from a caregiver and a Home Health Aide twice a week, plus his family, he was more comfortable in the familiar space of his home. I saw for myself the importance of family access 24/7, including his wife, my grandmother, with no institutional schedule or unfamiliar faces.
I am delighted to be part of the Support For Home team, helping others experience the support and comfort that my grandfather and grandmother received.

Weng Khin, Operations Assistant
I recently graduated from California State University Sacramento with a BA in geography.
I studied demographic statistics as part of my major, so starting my working career in an elder care / home care company feels very natural, since understanding the demographics of our rapidly aging population is very important to being able to better serve our seniors.
I will be working on many aspects of the agency's operations, but one very important focus will be helping to improve the matching of our Home Care Aides and clients, including the geographic factors. Being able to respond to dynamic need very quickly requires that data.
