About Support For Home We are a family owned in-home care agency in the Sacramento area. In our own lives, we have seen family members provide care to others then, in turn, need support themselves. This is a cycle nearly every family experiences. Too often, there are simply not enough family caregivers available to provide the required support.
The challenges encountered by the person needing care are tough ones, physically and emotionally. The same is true for caregivers, either within the family or professionals. As a family, ourselves, we are committed to helping with those challenges, in every way we can. We want our caregivers and our agency to treat our clients how we would want our own parents treated – with love, patience and care.

Siew Pheng (pronounced Siu Ping) My father lived into his 90s and my mother looked after him for several years after his stroke. The children were busy with their careers and families and could offer little of their time. It resulted in my mother’s poor health due to stress. In hind sight, engaging an external caregiver would have helped her tremendously. I have worked and lived in 3 countries as part of a very successful career, including my last employer, a Fortune 50 company which had facilitated my moves. When I decided to leave corporate life behind and make a difference in the lives of others, starting an in home care agency became an obvious choice very quickly. Now that my parents have passed away, I don't have the opportunity to take care of them. However, by providing high quality care through Support For Home, I know that I will make an important difference to our clients and their families. In addition, I also want to make a difference to the caregivers themselves, by providing them with benefits, support and training to help them be successful.
I have a BS and an MBA. Bert and I are now pursuing Gerontology to continue to better understand caring for the aging population.
I currently serve on the Education and Conference Planning Committee of the California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH).
Bert I am very fortunate that both of my parents (in their 80s) are successfully living at home. There are services that they need, but thankfully they are surrounded by a large family that cares for them. Pursuing first an academic then a corporate career, I have not often had the opportunity to live near them.
The realities of day-to-day life too often interfere with good intentions. In changing careers again, I focused on an opportunity to help people more than I have been able to in the past. I am still 750 miles from my parents, but there are many people in the greater Sacramento area who I can help, through our in-home care agency.
I have a BA and an MA, and did some doctoral work in history, but, as Siew Pheng mentioned, my educational focus is now on Gerontology.
I currently serve on the CAHSAH Home Care Aide Organization / Licensed Home Health Agency Steering Committee.
